ASAC Fitness Class Schedule May 2024

 Appointments required to participate in Fitness Classes. Must be an active monthly Fitness Member with up-to-date fees to participate in-person or on Zoom. For more info Click Here

Body Renewal

Focus on balance, core movement, and mobility through the joints and muscles. This class takes you into movements outside of your daily range of motion to build strength, balance, and confidence.

Chair Workout

Gentle and effective exercises done in/ with the chair that help you perform daily activities in life more easily. Generally, this classes utilize the full body with multiple muscle groups that focus on functional training.

Chair Yoga

Relax and enjoy a mindful seated yoga class using a chair for support, while creating more mobility and flexibility. Tone your body while adding relaxation and balance to your life.

Core on the Floor

A combination of core fitness exercises based on stretching and postural alignments, to help support  and stabilize the spine. Performed on the mat to strengthen the glutes, back, and abdominals.

Dance Cardio

Dance Cardio provides a variety of upbeat music for a fun and entertaining low impact aerobic workout that will stimulate core strength, balance, and mobility.

Focusing on all four pillars of exercise: Endurance, Balance, Strength, and Flexibility.

Nordic Pole Walking

Enjoy walking outside around ASAC using our patented poles for safety and support. Increase upper body strength with the use of these poles putting less stress on the hips, knees, and back; all whole burning up to 30% more calories during your Nordic walk!

Tai Chi 24 Forms

Practice the 24 Forms with other advanced students who know all 24 forms of the worlds most popular form of Tai Chi. Must be able to demonstrate sequence prior to participating in the class.

Tai Chi Fan Yang 18 Form

Participants learn this set with each form without the fan first then with a single fan. The goal is to progress toward learning the double fan. The class includes warm-up and Qigong exercises, applying basic Tai Chi principles to each movement and learning the set safely, with enjoyment. Fans to practice in class will be provided.

Tai Chi for Arthritis & Fall Prevention

Dr. Paul Lam with a team of medical and Tai Chi experts created this safe and easy to learn Program for health improvement purposes. Medical studies confirm practicing the Tai Chi for Arthritis program relieves pain, reduces falls, and improves quality of life. It is Arthritis Foundation and CDC approved and a promoted program for people with Arthritis and for Fall Prevention. The movements are practiced either in a standing or sitting position.

Tai Chi for Diabetes & Beginners

Dr. Paul Lam with a team of medical and Tai Chi experts created this program to prevent and improve the control of diabetes. His team incorporated medical research and traditional Chinese medicine to make Tai Chi safer, more effective, and accessible. This program has helped many people with and without diabetes to gain better health, improve balance and strength, immunity, relieve stress and enhances relaxation, helps better circulation, and improves overall quality of life.

Walk Aerobics

A HIIT walking class using the Tabata method of aerobic training for cardio health. A low impact workout for increased fitness, balance, and fall prevention.

Yoga Strong

This class uses: weights, exercises bands, or kettlebells in the Tabata method of training. Providing cardio and strength training together in one class — promoting fat loss, improved blood pressure, and insulin sensitivity. Alternating classes upper body and lower body.

Zumba Gold® 

A fun, energetic dance class with music and dance moves from all around the world. For anyone looking for a modified Zumba®  class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity. The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba®  choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. this class focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility, and balance! Great for those just starting their journey to a healthy lifestyle!
